What you should know about A.K. Small:

She is the new YA 2016 emerging writer at Aspen Summer Words for her novel RAT-GIRLS!

Her short-story, The Interior Designer, was runner up at the 2015 fall fiction contest for So To Speak: a feminist journal of language and art.

She ran a column titled A French Girl's View Du Monde at Barrelhouse Magazine.

She graduated from VCFA in 2009 with a MFA in fiction but she loves YA too.

Her favorite writers in the world are Anna Gavalda, Jandy Nelson, Ann Hood, Sue Miller, Anais Nin, Tayari Jones, Joyce Carol Oates, Richard Wright, and J.R.R. Tolkien!

Her favorite dancers are Sylvie Guillem, Noella Pontois, and Aurelie Dupont (thus the picture in the window).

And, last but not least, she grew up not far from the Sacre Coeur in Paris, owns a min-chi named Dallas, and has three girls, two of which are twins!
